There is Grace
There is Grace
I
avoid His gaze,
There
is ugliness in my heart.
I
feel so unworthy to be near Him.
My
heart and mind are a maze,
How
could a perfect God come near to my broken heart?
I
just want to run from Him.
“I
am unworthy” I scream,
“I
am unworthy” I cry,
“I
am unworthy” I sob.
And
as my mind and heart wage war,
He
whispers, “I know.”
“But
it is finished for I won the war!”
“Let
me hold you when you scream,”
“Let
me hear you when you cry,”
“Let
me heal you when you sob.”
“My
grace is enough for you,”
“Will
you let me come close?”
“I
will restore and redeem you,”
“Even
when you feel gross.”
And
so I come close.
The
mess you love.
The
heart you clean with your own blood.
“There
is grace” I scream,
“There
is grace” He cries,
“There
is grace” I sob.
May
I look in His eyes and see love,
Love
that washes away my shame.
Love
that surrounds me in my pain.
